About Me:

I am a licensed professional counselor who brings over a decade of experience counseling individuals, couples, and groups. I work with the age of 18 and older. For a period of time, it was necessary for me to focus on my most valued life roles as a wife and mother to my daughters, as well as to win my personal health battle with breast cancer. I am now eager and excited to return to the professional counseling of others going through their own challenges life brings with compassion, empathy and even more understanding.

I specialize in a wide range of areas including depression, anxiety, anger management, grief, trauma/PTSD, navigating significant life changes, parenting, women’s issues, all aspects of pregnancy and postpartum challenges, medical health issues including those with cancer, caregivers and the bereaved. I offer counseling services rooted in Catholic and broader Christian principles upon request.

Professional Development:

Throughout my career, I have pursued extensive professional training to better serve my clients. These training courses include anger management, crisis management, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, communication, trauma, and substance abuse. In addition, I have studied gerontology, equipping me with the necessary tools to support clients navigating aging and end-of-life challenges. I am educated in women’s issues, pregnancy, and oncology. I thrive on exploring new topics and continuously enhance my existing knowledge to provide the most effective up-to-date counseling support.

Background:

I became interested in learning about the human psyche and helping others early on in my life. This led me to pursue my master’s degree in counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. When I’m not in my professional role, I cherish quality time with my family. I especially enjoy riding bikes and having a good game night. I also volunteer and stay involved in church activities, keeping me grounded and connected to my community.

What I love about my career:

I truly love witnessing and engaging with people as they courageously grow and transform throughout their mental health journey. Sometimes life pushes us to a place where we need extra support to move forward. It is just as important to seek treatment for our mental and emotional health as it is for our physical ailments. I firmly believe that healing the mind is as vital as healing the body, and I am here to provide the tools to make that possible. There is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing someone discover their own strength, realize their potential, and grow beyond what they once thought impossible.
